2027 Paediatric Genomics Immersion Fellowships Project
The General Genetics Service comprises a professional, innovative and friendly team of approximately 40 staff providing specialty general genetics services based at Monash Medical Centre, Clayton. Development of many multidisciplinary and subspecialist genetics clinics underpins the importance of Monash Genetics to the delivery of high-quality patient care within the Monash Health network.
Outpatient services at Monash include reproductive, prenatal, paediatric and adult genetics, including cardiac and neurogenetics clinics.
There are additional multidisciplinary meetings and/or clinics with other specialties including: immunogenetics, deafness genetics, craniofacial and cleft palate, skeletal dysplasia, haematogenetics, and genodermatoses.
Inpatient services across Monash Children's Hospital and Monash Medical Centre are primarily in paediatric genetics, particularly in the neonatal ICU.
Outpatient clinics are currently held across the Monash Health Clayton Campus, Victorian Heart Hospital and at Berwick Specialist Suites.
There is the possibility of new clinics starting at other locations within the Monash Health LHSN.
Inpatient paediatric consults are currently seen at MCH and MMC Clayton but may be required at other sites upon request.
Genomics is considered vitally important in the future of Monash Health, and the successful applicants will gather experience in this dynamic area to further help develop and promote paediatric genomic medicine at Monash Health and across South-Eastern Melbourne and Gippsland.
