Future Generation Joint Venture (FGJV) is the principal contractor for Snowy Hydro's Snowy 2.0, Australia's largest committed renewable energy project. We bring the combined engineering expertise of three companies - Italy's Webuild (formerly Salini Impregilo), Australian-based Clough and US-based Lane Construction.
Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. The Opportunity
As the Deputy Commercial Director , you will be a trusted strategic partner to the Project Commercial Director, leading commercial governance, contract management and risk oversight across multiple works packages. You will guide a high‑performing commercial team while driving best‑practice commercial outcomes in a challenging, fast‑paced project environment.

In this senior leadership role, you will:
- Provide authoritative commercial and contract advice to project leadership and delivery teams
- Oversee claims, variations, compensation adjustments and commercial negotiations with clients, subcontractors and suppliers
- Partner closely with production teams to ensure contractual compliance and minimise programme and cost impacts
- Lead commercial team performance, resourcing, capability development and succession planning
- Maintain strong commercial governance aligned with FGJV operating standards
- Drive risk and opportunity reviews to protect and enhance project earnings
- Manage upstream and downstream commercial relationships across a diverse stakeholder group
- Ensure timely progress claims, payment cycles and commercial reporting
- Oversee insurance, forecasting, financial risk and final cost outcomes
- Champion safety, quality,
environmental stewardship and compliance across all commercial activities

About You
You will bring:
- 15+ years' experience in engineering and construction, with extensive senior commercial/contract management expertise
- A proven track record on large‑scale, complex infrastructure projects
- Strong leadership capability with experience managing multidisciplinary commercial teams
- Demonstrated ability working with incentivised target cost contracts
- Sharp negotiation skills and the ability to influence at all levels
- Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills
- A tertiary qualification in commerce, law, construction management, quantity surveying, economics or a related field
White Card required.
Location & Working Environment
Based in Cooma, NSW , you will work across project offices and site locations set within the stunning Kosciuszko National Park region.
Expect:
- A mix of office and site exposure
- Varied climate — from snow in winter to mild summer conditions
