About the Role:

We are seeking a commercially minded and transformational General Manager, Finance to lead our finance function across Australia and Aotearoa (New Zealand).

Sitting at the intersection of operational control and strategic growth, you will serve as the region's senior authority on governance, risk, and financial control while acting as the Authorised Company Officer and Risk Officer. Beyond core compliance, you will play a pivotal role as a strategic advisor to the APAC Board and global stakeholders, sponsoring the ongoing digital transformation of our finance systems and leading a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

- Governance, Risk & Compliance: Own the internal control setting across AU & NZ. Manage relationships with tax authorities (ATO & Inland Revenue), auditors, banks, and insurers (ISR, Product Recall, Public Liability, Marine Cargo).
- Financial Integrity & Reporting: Oversee accurate, timely statutory, tax, and group reporting, including BAS/GST, FBT, transfer pricing, and payroll tax compliance.




- Treasury & Cash Flow: Direct the 12 week rolling cash flow forecast, manage banking relationships, foreign exchange exposure, and working capital across both markets.
- Systems Transformation: Act as the finance sponsor for continuous systems improvement automating manual processes and driving integrations between ERP, POS, and workforce management platforms.
- Strategic Advisory: Provide robust financial modelling and commercial insight to support new retail site decisions, capital investments, and cost reduction projects.
- Team Leadership & Payroll: Lead, coach, and develop a multi disciplinary finance team, ensuring strict compliance across payroll and industrial relations.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

- Qualifications: CA or CPA qualified with substantial post qualification experience in a senior finance leadership role.
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of AU & NZ accounting standards, statutory/taxation requirements, and payroll/IR compliance.
- Industry Experience: Proven experience within retail, manufacturing, or multi-entity group environments (ideally both).
- Systems Skills: Advanced Excel & financial modelling. Hands on experience with modern cloud ERP platforms (direct experience with Odoo, Xero, or Adaptive Insights is a major plus).
- Transformation Focus: Demonstrated track record of sponsoring finance system implementations, cutovers, and process automation.
- Leadership Style: A collaborative, grounded leader who is as comfortable walking the factory floor or visiting a retail shop as they are presenting in the boardroom.
