Lead the delivery of major energy infrastructure projects with PCM
Extensive project portfolio spanning QLD, NSW and ACT.
Engineering & Project Delivery | Senior Leadership
Why join PCM? Build what comes next.
PEP Construction Management (PCM) is a specialist engineering and construction delivery business focused on utility scale energy and power infrastructure projects across Australia. We are a wholly owned subsidiary of Private Energy Partners (PEP), established to deliver large, complex balance of plant and integrated construction scopes across battery energy storage, renewable generation, grid and data-related infrastructure.
PCM has been selected as the preferred principal contractor for Quinbrook's long term pipeline of major energy infrastructure projects, commencing with the Supernode Stage 3 project in Queensland (currently under construction). This offers a rare opportunity to join a business on an exciting growth trajectory and help shape the future of project delivery across Australia's energy transition.
Position Overview
PCM is looking for an experienced Senior EPC Project Manager to help lead the next phase of our project portfolio, commencing with a major BESS, HV substation and transmission infrastructure development.
This is an opportunity to join PCM at an important stage of its growth and play a key leadership role in building PCM's project delivery capability, systems, culture and future project teams, with the opportunity to influence the organisation beyond a single project.
You will initially lead the project through the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) phase, working closely with the client, design teams, consultants, and delivery partners, with the potential to continue into the execution phase as Principal EPC Contractor.
About the role
As Senior EPC Project Manager,
you will provide senior leadership across the project lifecycle and be accountable for safe, timely and cost-effective delivery.
You will:
Lead project execution from ECI through construction, commissioning and operational handover.
Lead and coordinate PCM's project delivery team, consultants, OEMs, suppliers and contractors.
Manage the integration of engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning interfaces.
Establish and maintain strong project controls across scope, schedule, cost, risk and quality.
Lead project risk management, including delivery, interface, schedule, commercial and technical risks.
Manage EPC, Balance-of-Plant and supplier contracts, including variations, claims and commercial negotiations.
Maintain strong financial control through cost management, forecasting, cash flow management and performance reporting.
Provide clear and commercially focused reporting to executive leadership, the client, investment committees and other key stakeholders.
Ensure quality assurance, inspections, testing, commissioning, defect management and as-built requirements are effectively managed.
Lead WHS performance across the project and embed a strong safety culture and critical risk management approach.
Build trusted relationships across the client, project partners, contractors, suppliers and internal teams.
Maintain delivery momentum by identifying issues early, resolving interfaces and driving accountability across the project team.
About you
You are an experienced project leader who is comfortable operating in complex construction and energy environments. You are commercially astute, technically credible and able to bring people together around a clear delivery objective.
You will ideally have:
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline, with Electrical or Civil Engineering qualifications highly regarded.
10+ years' experience managing and delivering one or more of the following: utility-scale BESS, HV substations, transmission or other complex energy infrastructure projects.
Demonstrated experience leading projects as Principal Contractor and managing multidisciplinary teams, consultants, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
Strong WHS leadership and experience managing construction risk in high risk electrical infrastructure environments.
Strong commercial and contractual capability, including contract administration, cost control, forecasting, variations and claims.
Proven ability to lead high-performing project teams and develop engineers, supervisors and future project leaders.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
The ability to lead confidently across technical and non-technical environments.
Robust knowledge of relevant industry codes, standards and project delivery requirements.
What we offer
Competitive remuneration package
Career growth and broader scope, with the potential to advance as PCM's project portfolio expands.
A strong forward project pipeline, providing the opportunity to work across major energy infrastructure projects beyond a single project.
High caliber leadership and governance, supported by experienced project partners and specialist consultants.
The opportunity to help shape a growing business, including the systems, standards and culture that will underpin future projects.
