About the role

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Engineering & Maintenance Manager to join our team at our Preston manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Site Manager, you will play a critical leadership role in driving engineering excellence, maintenance reliability, safety performance, and continuous improvement across a busy manufacturing operation. You will be part of a team focused on operational excellence and manufacturing performance and will be comfortable working in an environment that embraces change, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

- Providing leadership and support for safe work practices and fostering a strong safety culture across the site.
- Contributing as a member of the Site Leadership Team, supporting site-wide operational, people and strategic initiatives.
- Leading and managing a team of Electricians, Mechanical Fitters and Maintenance Planner across two shifts.
- Managing the site's repairs and maintenance budget and ensuring cost-effective maintenance practices.




- Driving preventative and predictive maintenance initiatives to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
- Managing the site's CMMS (MEX) and maintenance planning processes.
- Coordinating contractors and ensuring compliance with all safety and quality requirements.
- Managing capital projects, including equipment installations, plant upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensuring manufacturing equipment, utilities, facilities and site services are maintained to required safety, quality and operational standards.
- Working collaboratively with site leadership, production teams and the broader ANZ network to achieve business objectives.

About you

- Hold tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or related discipline)
- Have 5-10 years' experience in a Maintenance & Engineering Management role within a manufacturing environment.
- Have demonstrated experience leading maintenance teams in a unionised workplace.
- Have strong experience managing maintenance budgets, contractors and capital projects.
- Possess sound knowledge of preventative maintenance systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Have experience working with MEX
- Have experience with purchasing systems and spare parts inventory management.
- Be familiar with GMP, HACCP and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management and continuous improvement skills.
- Have a hands-on approach with a passion for improving plant reliability and operational performance.
