Regular repairs, maintenance, modifications and services are to be carried out using workshop facilities at a satisfactory level of service in a timely and effective manner.Maintain, tests and repairs trucks and their mechanical parts including transmissions, suspensions.Key ResponsibilitiesTasks includes:Detecting and diagnosing faults in truck engines and partsDismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking partsRepairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as neededPerforming scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups,



to achieve smoother running of vehiclesDiagnose and repair electronic body management systemsDiagnose and repair hydraulic braking systemsDiagnose and repair heavy diesel vehicle shaftsReassembling engines and parts after being repairedTesting and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performanceDiagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of computersComplete all required documentation relating to NHVAS procedures in a timely and accurate manner.Skill & ExperienceSkills and experienceThree years plus experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic.Ability to carry out mechanical tasks with minimal supervision.Proven ability to meet deadlines and to make independent decisions.Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.Proven ability to work within a team workplace.Possess a driver's licence.
