This role suits an accountant with experience in Australian public practice who enjoys taxation, compliance and advisory work.You will work closely with clients and the Director to deliver high-quality accounting and business services across a varied portfolio.Key responsibilities:Prepare income tax returns and taxation reports for individuals, companies, trusts and partnershipsPrepare financial statements, tax workpapers and supporting schedulesPrepare and review BAS, IAS and GST workpapers and related compliance mattersResearch taxation issues and provide advice on tax implications for clientsAssist with tax planning,



year-end tax compliance and business advisory mattersLiaise with clients, the ATO and other relevant parties regarding tax and compliance mattersAssist in responding to ATO reviews, queries and taxation disputesMaintain accurate client records and complete work within deadlinesUse Xero and related accounting and tax softwareAbout you:Bachelor degree or higher in Accounting, Commerce or a related fieldAt least 2 years' experience in Australian public practice accountingStrong knowledge of Australian taxation, GST, BAS and compliance requirementsExperience using Xero and accounting/tax softwareStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple jobs and work to deadlinesPositive attitude, initiative and attention to detailProgress towards, or completion of, CA or CPAExperience working directly with clients in a skilled services environmentWhat we offer:Supportive team environmentExposure to a broad range of clients and tax mattersFlexible and hybrid working arrangements by agreementApplicants must have full working rights in Australia.
