About the role

Territory Kids - Gunn is seeking a casual Assistant to join our childcare and outside school hours care team in Gunn NT. This is a versatile, part-time casual position that offers the perfect opportunity to work with young children in a supportive and nurturing workplace. As an Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality care, education, and developmental activities for the children in our care, working alongside our experienced team to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

- Supporting educators in the delivery of age-appropriate activities, play-based learning, and developmental programmes

- Assisting with the supervision and duty of care for children throughout the day and during outside school hours

- Helping to maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment, including preparation and tidying of activity areas and equipment

- Supporting mealtimes, snack preparation, and feeding of younger children as required

- Assisting with personal care routines, including toileting, nappy changing, and hygiene practices

- Contributing to positive relationships with children and families through friendly and skilled communication

- Supporting behaviour management and helping to foster positive conduct and emotional development

- Following all centre policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children

What we're looking for

- A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their growth and development

- Ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and team members

- A calm, patient, and nurturing approach to childcare

- Strong commitment to maintaining health, safety, and hygiene standards in a childcare setting





- Flexibility and reliability to work casual hours as required

- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow instructions from senior educators

- Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one) as required by Australian childcare regulations

- Preferred: Experience or training in childcare, early childhood education, or a related field

- Preferred: First aid or CPR certification
