WE ARE LOOKING TO HIRE TWO MECHANICS:
- 1 × Experienced Qualified Mechanic
- 1 × 3rd or 4th Year Apprentice

$35–$40/hr + super for qualified mechanic | Apprentice rates based on year level
Monday–Friday | 8am–5pm | 1-hour lunch | No weekends or public holidays

McHenry Motors is a busy, well-established independent workshop in Cowes on Phillip Island, and we're growing our team.

We're looking for two great people — an experienced qualified mechanic ready to become a key senior member of our workshop, and a capable 3rd/4th year apprentice who wants to finish their trade somewhere they'll genuinely learn and develop.

WHY WORK WITH US?

EXPERIENCED MECHANIC

We're looking for a qualified mechanic who knows their way around a workshop and takes pride in doing the job properly.

You'll be confident with servicing and repairs, diagnostics and fault finding, brakes, suspension, steering,



cooling systems and more involved mechanical work.

If you're capable of working independently, have strong mechanical knowledge and enjoy being someone the team can rely on, there's an opportunity to become a key senior member of our workshop.

Diesel and European experience is highly regarded, but strong mechanical ability, reliability and quality workmanship matter most.

3RD OR 4TH YEAR APPRENTICE

We're also looking for a capable 3rd or 4th year apprentice who genuinely wants to become a great mechanic.

You'll work alongside experienced tradespeople and get hands-on experience across servicing, repairs, diagnostics and fault finding — not just basic jobs.

If you're reliable, keen to learn, take pride in your work and want to finish your apprenticeship somewhere you can keep developing your skills, we'd love to hear from you.

THE PERSON MATTERS

We're looking for people who are reliable, down-to-earth, motivated and take pride in their work. You don't need the fanciest résumé — if you're good at what you do, have a good attitude and care about doing the job properly, we'd like to meet you.

A current driver's licence is required.

We're based in Cowes, Phillip Island — surrounded by beaches, surf and island life, while still being accessible (mostly against the traffic!) from Pakenham, Cranbourne, Lang Lang, Bass, Wonthaggi and the surrounding southeast.
