We are seeking an experienced Clinical Care Manager to provide clinical leadership and oversight across our Mater Christi residential aged care service.
Reporting to the Residential Care Services Manager, the Clinical Care Manager is the senior clinical leader within the service and plays a key role in ensuring residents receive safe, high-quality, person-centred and rights-based care.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being visible and engaged with residents and staff, supporting our Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Cert IV and care teams while maintaining strong clinical governance and quality systems.
What We Need from You
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
- Significant post-registration nursing experience, including substantial experience within residential aged care
- Demonstrated senior clinical leadership or clinical management experience
- Strong knowledge of contemporary aged care clinical practice and clinical governance
- Sound understanding of the Aged Care Act 2024, Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards and relevant residential aged care regulatory requirements
- Experience in clinical risk, incident management, quality improvement and audit processes
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and escalation skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, mentor and develop Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Cert IV and care staff
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, staff and health professionals
- A genuine commitment to person-centred care, resident choice, dignity and quality of life
About the Role
The Clinical Care Manager will:
- Provide visible clinical leadership and act as the senior clinical escalation point across Mater Christi
- Oversee clinical care quality, resident assessment, care planning and clinical risk management
- Support safe medication management, infection prevention and control, deterioration management, restrictive practices, dementia and behaviour support, and palliative and end-of-life care
- Lead and support the clinical team, providing coaching, mentoring, supervision and professional development
- Promote secure delegation, appropriate scope of practice and clinical competency across the workforce
- Monitor clinical incidents, quality indicators, trends and audit outcomes and support continuous improvement
- Work closely with the Residential Care Services Manager and SCC's Compliance, Operations, Risk and Education (CORE)
team to maintain strong clinical governance and regulatory compliance
- Support appropriate staffing and clinical skill mix, including 24/7 Registered Nurse coverage and care minute requirements
- Contribute to admissions, transitions of care and AN-ACC processes
- Develop collaborative relationships with residents, families, GPs, Nurse Practitioners, pharmacists, allied health professionals and other health partners
