KITCHEN HAND / COOK – REMOTE TASMANIA

Remote Tasmania | Commencing 8th–10th September | Contract through to approximately early June

Are you a hands-on Kitchen Hand or Cook with solid kitchen experience, good food preparation skills and the confidence to tackle a range of kitchen duties?

This is an opportunity to join a small, close-knit team in a peaceful and pristine wilderness setting in Remote Tasmania, where being adaptable, reliable and happy to pitch in across the operation is key.

THE ROLE

You’ll work alongside the Chef, helping keep the kitchen running smoothly while also taking responsibility for basic cooking and general kitchen duties.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

- Assisting the Chef with kitchen operations
- Food preparation and general kitchen prep
- Basic cooking including larder, fryer and other kitchen stations
- Washing dishes and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen
- Assisting in other departments when required
- General duties as needed to support the wider team

WHAT'S ON OFFER

- Casual position
- $33.05 per hour Monday–Friday
- Weekend penalty rates apply
- Own room in a shared staff house – $90 per week




- Cooking facilities available in the staff house
- Meals are not provided

IMPORTANT TO KNOW

This is a genuinely remote location, so applicants need to be comfortable with a quiet, simple and off-grid lifestyle.

- Contract until approximately early June
- No pets permitted onsite
- No mobile phone reception – internet only
- No television reception
- A outstanding fit for someone who enjoys the outdoors, nature and living in a tranquil wilderness environment

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We’re seeking someone who is:

- Experienced in a commercial kitchen environment
- Confident with food preparation and basic cooking
- Comfortable working across larder, fryer and general kitchen duties
- Reliable, practical and willing to get stuck in
- Happy working as part of a small team
- Adaptable and willing to assist outside the kitchen when required
- Comfortable living and working in a very remote workplace
