ConsultANZ is looking for a Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Advisor to join a leading construction company in Sydney on a permanent basis. This role is essential in ensuring workplace safety and compliance, providing expert guidance to the construction team on health, safety, and environmental matters.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Ensure all site activities comply with safety regulations, legislation, and company policies.
- Review and update procedures to maintain compliance with statutory requirements.
- Provide expert advice on accident prevention and workforce health initiatives.
- Monitor subcontractor compliance with safety standards and management systems.
- Implement and maintain site safety programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct routine site inspections to identify risks and enforce safe work practices.
- Assist in hazard identification and risk assessments.
- Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and timely reporting.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans tailored to site conditions.
- Deliver HSEQ feedback and actionable recommendations to project teams.
- Report all incidents to the HSE Manager within the required timeframe (30 minutes).
- Lead safety meetings and maintain effective communication with regulatory authorities.





REQUIREMENTS

- Tertiary qualification in Health & Safety or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an HSE advisory role.
- Prior exposure to civil construction or mining environments is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of ICAMS (Incident and Compliance Management System).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
- Self-driven, adaptable, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Confident in delegating responsibilities and ensuring outcomes are delivered on time.
