The company provides customers with a wide range of products for construction, renovation, maintenance, and DIY projects. Serving both trade and retail customers, the business focuses on delivering quality products, knowledgeable customer service, and productive retail operations. Through its retail stores, Swadlings Timber & Hardware aims to provide a convenient shopping experience while meeting the diverse needs of homeowners, contractors, and businesses.

Our client is seeking an experienced Retail Manager to oversee daily store operations and support the continued growth and success of the business.

Position Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Managing and reviewing the store's product range to ensure inventory levels align with customer demand, seasonal trends, and business objectives.
- Developing and implementing purchasing strategies, pricing structures, and promotional initiatives to maximise sales and profitability.
- Implementing in-store promotional activities and ensuring marketing initiatives are effectively executed within the store.
- Providing professional product advice to customers, assisting with product selection, and ensuring a high standard of customer service.




- Monitoring and maintaining accurate inventory records, stock movements, and sales transactions using internal systems.
- Tracking store performance and implementing measures to improve sales and operational efficiency.
- Recruiting, training, mentoring, and supervising retail staff to ensure productivity, engagement, and service excellence.
- Ensuring all store operations comply with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements, company policies, and relevant legislation.
- Analysing sales performance and preparing management reports to support strategic decision-making and business growth.
- Implementing visual merchandising and showroom presentation standards to enhance the customer experience and maximise sales opportunities.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Relevant Advanced Diploma or Diploma qualification in a related field.
- At least one year of relevant experience in the role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Well-developed organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Sound understanding of retail operations, inventory control, and sales processes.

Salary: This is a full-time position with competitive remuneration between $90,000 and $95,000 per annum plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
