Glen Fisk Recruitment is partnering with a large Queensland Government organisation to recruit an experienced Senior Business Analyst.

This role will support digital and technology initiatives, working closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyse processes, embed cybersecurity controls and drive business outcomes aligned with strategic technology priorities.

Primary Purpose of the Role

The Senior Business Analyst supports the Digital, Information & Technology (DiT) Team to deliver business outcomes enabled by digital technologies, aligned with the Digital Roadmap and technology investment plan.

The Senior Business Analyst will initially support a cybersecurity project, reporting to the Project Manager. The project focuses on cybersecurity risk mitigation and maturity uplift.

The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for requirements gathering, process analysis, incorporating cybersecurity controls into business processes, and other business analysis activities as required.

Knowledge and Experience

Essential:

- Strong analytical skills to translate business needs into effective requirements.
- Development of business, functional/non-functional and solution requirements.
- Demonstrated experience with process analysis, mapping, documentation and transformation.
- Robust problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively.
- At least five years’ experience as a Senior Business Analyst in ICT projects and/or service delivery.

Desirable





- Experience in analysis and implementation of cybersecurity controls (eg data loss protection) and requirements.
- Experience in developing test plans and test cases and leading and supporting user acceptance testing.
- Knowledge of Microsoft technologies, especially Microsoft 365 and Purview.
- Experience in identifying, documenting and making recommendations to address organisational change impacts.

Key accountabilities

- Requirements gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and document creation, usage and sharing of confidential information and the impacts of cybersecurity controls on business operations.
- Support the implementation of activities within the cybersecurity project and other assigned projects/programs as required.
- Develop business requirements, functional and non-functional requirements and process models to a high standard.
- Ensure all documentation is accessible and understandable for the broader team.
- Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams to ensure alignment on requirements and deliverables.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, end users and technical service providers to ensure fit-for-purpose delivery functionality & smooth delivery.
- Critically assess the impact of cybersecurity controls on business processes and make recommendations for effective implementation.
- Develop user acceptance testing (UAT) plans and test cases, conduct smoke testing and support users through UAT.
- Provide training and support to end-users to facilitate UAT.
- Provide hypercare post-implementation.
