About the role

An exciting opportunity exists for a Grade 3 Allied Health Assistant to join our excellent Rehabilitation at Home team providing quality care and rehabilitation services. Rehabilitation at Home provides an intensive, short-term therapy program to people immediately after they are discharged from hospital. This role is a 0.6 position providing clients with rehabilitation on weekends and during the week.

The successful applicant will be part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team offering home-based therapy either face to face or via telehealth to Musculoskeletal, Neurological and general medical client cohorts. They will provide individual and group therapy under the direction of physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech pathologists.

The AHA G3 will assist with the coordination of the Allied Health Assistant workforce in Rehabilitation at Home and work collaboratively with the Grade 2 and 3 Allied Health Assistants in the Specialised Rehabilitation program (SRP).

- Provision of weekend rehabilitation to clients admitted to Rehab at Home
- Support clients with rehabilitation goals as prescribed by Allied Health professional
- Provision of home based or telehealth therapeutic sessions
- Collaborate with Grade 2 and 3 AHA, Rehab at Home and Allied Health MDT team
- Passionate about providing MDT focused rehabilitation
- Experience working as an Allied Health Assistant within a multi-disciplinary team and provision of rehabilitation prescribed by Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech Pathology
- Experience working in the community and/or delivering rehabilitation in a client’s home
- Experience or ability to quickly develop skills in delivering patient care via telehealth (Health Direct platform)and other electronic platforms
