Experienced Laboratory Technician - Asphalt & Construction Materials

We’re currently seeking anexperienced Laboratory Technicianto join our client's team in Mackay

This is an excellent opportunity for an experiencedconstruction materials or asphalt testing professionallooking to join a well-established team and continue developing their career across major civil and infrastructure projects.

We’re looking for someone who already understands the industry, is confident working independently and canhit the ground runningin both laboratory and field environments.

What you'll be doing Your role will involve a combination of laboratory and field-based testing, including:

- Laboratory testing of asphalt and construction materials
- Field testing across civil and infrastructure projects
- Nuclear density gauge testing - Certification preferred but not essential
- Pavement coring and sample collection
- Collecting and preparing samples for testing
- Maintaining accurate testing records and results
- Ensuring testing is completed in accordance with relevant procedures and standards
- Working closely with project and site teams
- Working across day and night shift rosters as required

What we're looking for

We’re specifically seeking anexperienced candidatewith a solid background in construction materials testing

You will ideally have:

- Previous experience inconstruction materials testing, asphalt testing or a similar laboratory/field-based role
- Experience withnuclear density gauge testing
- Experience with pavement coring and sample collection
- A currentP Licence minimum
- Strong understanding of safety, quality and testing procedures
- The ability to accurately record and report test results
- Confidence working both independently and as part of a wider team
- A practical, hands-on approach and strong work ethic
- Flexibility to workday and night shifts and travel to project sites when required
