About Our School
Eileen O’Connor Catholic College is a specialist school within Sydney Catholic Schools, dedicated to providing high-quality, faith-centred education for students with disability.
About You
As part of the Learning Support Team you will assist the classroom teacher in providing a quality Catholic education focused on maximising student outcomes, through a holistic, student centred curriculum. You must be able to demonstrate:
- an understanding of the needs of the diverse needs of students who require individual and classroom support
- ability to work collaboratively with teachers as a team member
- excellent communication and organisational skills, support and resourcefulness
- a willingness to support the positive religious and cultural Catholic school environment for students
- a Certificate III or IV in Educational Support from TAFE NSW or equivalent post-secondary qualification.
Other Key Responsibilities include:
- personal care support such as providing feeding assistance, mealtime supervision, toileting support and personal care in line with individual care plans
- communication support in assisting students using AAC, visual supports, schedules and other communication systems to help them engage in learning and daily routines.
Working With Children Check (WWCC)
This role is classified as child-related work and therefore requires a WWCC clearance prior to commencement of employment.
