Junior/Mid Mechanical Design Engineer / Draftsperson

Mechanical Design Engineer / Draftsperson | Greater Brisbane Area

Our client, a well-established Australian manufacturer of engineered mechanical equipment and attachments, is looking for an early-career design engineer or mechanical draftsperson to join their engineering team. With in-house design, manufacturing and testing on one site, this is a strong environment to build practical skills across a broad and varied product range. You will work closely with senior engineers, supporting design and detailing work and getting hands-on across the full development cycle, from CAD through to prototyping and production.

Key responsibilities

- Produce detailed 3D models, assemblies and manufacturing drawings
- Support senior engineers on design and development projects
- Generate schematics and Bills of Materials
- Assist with prototype build, testing and production implementation




- Contribute to design improvements and resolve production and manufacturing issues
- Maintain drawing standards and technical documentation

Experience & requirements

- Qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design or Drafting (degree, diploma or equivalent)
- Around 2-3 years' experience in a design or drafting role, or a strong recent graduate with relevant hands-on experience
- Proficiency in 3D CAD - Autodesk Inventor preferred
- Sound understanding of manufacturing drawings, tolerancing and BOMs
- A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to spend time on the workshop floor
- Positive communication skills and the ability to work within a team

The role is fully on-site during an initial period, with one day per week from home available thereafter.
