About the Role

Due to internal growth, our client is seeking an experienced Mental Health Counsellor to join their Employment Services team, supporting participants across the Sutherland and St George region. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity where you will provide specialist counselling and support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges and other barriers to employment.

This is a mobile, community-based role working across sites in Sutherland, Caringbah, Hurstville, and Kogarah. You'll have the autonomy to manage your own diary, schedule participant appointments, and plan your day, while enjoying the support of a team-oriented and experienced team.

Working one-on-one and facilitating small group sessions, you’ll support participants with a range of complex needs, including mental health conditions, psychosocial disability, depression, anxiety, and neurodiverse presentations.



You’ll provide tailored interventions that empower individuals to build confidence, improve wellbeing, and progress towards sustainable employment.

You’ll work closely with Employment Consultants, internal support teams, and community partners to deliver holistic, person-centred support and achieve meaningful outcomes for your participants.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Membership (or eligibility for membership) with ACA or PACFA.
- Demonstrated experience working with people experiencing mental health challenges, psychosocial disability, or multiple barriers to employment.
- At least 12-18 months' counselling or case management experience, ideally within community services, employment services, or a related sector.
- Experience facilitating both individual counselling sessions and group programs.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to independently manage your own appointments and workload.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a compassionate, strengths-based approach.
