Registered Nurse (RN) - Residential Aged Care

Registered Nurse - Residential Aged Care Contract | Nowra, NSW

About the opportunity

Medstar Nursing Care is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a contract placement at a residential aged care facility in Nowra, NSW.

This prospect offers flexible temporary work while allowing you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older people. You will deliver safe, compassionate and person-centred care that supports residents' dignity, independence and quality of life.

Key responsibilities

- Assess residents' clinical needs and develop, implement and evaluate individualised care plans
- Administer medications safely and monitor their effectiveness
- Conduct clinical assessments, monitor vital signs and report changes in residents' conditions
- Identify and respond appropriately to clinical deterioration
- Collaborate with doctors, allied health professionals, care workers and other members of the multidisciplinary team
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical notes and resident records
- Communicate respectfully with residents and their families regarding care needs and treatment plans
- Provide wound care, catheter management and other clinical procedures as required
- Support and supervise personal care workers and other care team members
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures
- Maintain a safe, respectful and hygienic environment for residents and staff
- Ensure care is delivered in accordance with facility policies, professional standards and the Aged Care Quality Standards

Requirements

- Current Registered Nurse registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia through AHPRA




- At least six months' experience as a Registered Nurse in residential aged care
- Current National Police Check
- Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain it before commencing
- Full Australian working rights
- Strong clinical assessment, judgement and problem-solving skills
- Sound knowledge of residential aged care standards and regulatory requirements
- Clear and compassionate communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to confidentiality, professional conduct and resident dignity
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays when required
- Experience using electronic clinical documentation or aged care management systems is preferred
