About the Role

We are seeking an Intermediate Auditor to join our growing Audit team in Sydney. This role is suited to a motivated professional who has gained experience in external audit and is looking to further develop their technical and client service skills within a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

Assist with the delivery of external audit engagements in accordance with Australian Auditing Standards and the firm's audit methodology.

Perform audit procedures across assigned areas of financial statement audits with limited supervision.

Examine and evaluate financial records, accounting systems, internal controls and supporting documentation.

Prepare clear and comprehensive audit working papers, documenting audit procedures performed, evidence obtained and conclusions reached.

Conduct audit testing and analytical review procedures to assess the accuracy and reliability of financial information.

Identify accounting, auditing and financial reporting issues and elevate matters to senior team members as required.

Assist in reviewing financial statement presentation and disclosure requirements.

Utilise audit software, including CaseWare, in the completion of audit assignments.





Liaise professionally with clients to obtain information and supporting documentation.

Monitor progress against audit budgets and engagement timelines and communicate issues proactively.

Contribute to maintaining audit quality standards and compliance with relevant regulatory and professional requirements.

Provide guidance and support to junior team members where appropriate.

Qualifications and Experiences

To be successful in this role, you will have:

A relevant bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.

Progress towards, or completion of, a CA ANZ or CPA Australia qualification.

At least 2 years of relevant external audit experience in a public practice or skilled services environment.

Sound knowledge of auditing principles, accounting standards, financial reporting requirements and applicable regulatory frameworks.

Experience preparing audit documentation and working papers.

Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within engagement teams.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to audit quality and professional standards.

Additional Information

This role is based in Martin Place, NSW, with required on-site attendance at the office and client locations

This is a full-time position requiring 38 hours per week, with additional reasonable hours during peak periods

The position reports to the Audit & Assuarance Director and supports engagement delivery across multiple clients

Salary is aligned with market rates and commensurate with experience
