eCommerce Production and Warehouse Manager - Lead, Improve, Deliver!
Take ownership of the operation behind one of Australia’s most awarded gift hamper brands
Gourmet Basket is one of Australia’s most awarded gift hamper companies and has been a recognised national brand since 2010.
We’re part of the Giftd Collective, alongside sister brands The Cupcake Factory and Daily Dough Co — a growing group of premium gifting and food brands operating from our Artarmon facility.
We’re looking for an experienced Warehouse & Production Manager to join us on a 12-month full-time contract and lead the team behind thousands of customer orders and premium gift deliveries across Australia.
This is a hands‑on leadership role with real ownership. You’ll run the day‑to‑day warehouse and production operation, lead and develop the team, drive productivity and quality, and make sure every order is packed accurately and dispatched on time.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys building robust teams, improving processes and making operations run better — someone who can combine structure and discipline with the pace of a growing e‑commerce business.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Leading and developing the warehouse and production team
- Planning daily production and ensuring all orders are dispatched on time
- Managing picking, packing, receiving, stock control and dispatch
- Maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy and presentation
- Managing inventory, stock rotation and warehouse organisation
- Coordinating courier collections and daily manifesting
- Rostering the team to meet changing demand
- Recruiting, onboarding and training warehouse staff
- Monitoring productivity, labour costs and operational KPIs
- Identifying bottlenecks and improving systems and processes
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe warehouse
- Ensuring SOPs are consistently followed
These responsibilities reflect the role’s broad ownership of warehouse operations, production, stock control, shipping, reporting, efficiency and team leadership.
Peak season
Christmas is our busiest period, when our warehouse team can grow to around five times its normal size.
You’ll play a key role in preparing for peak, recruiting and training seasonal staff, building effective rosters and keeping production running efficiently under high demand.
Additional hours are required during the November and December peak period.
What we’re looking for
You’ll ideally have experience managing a warehouse, production, fulfilment or similar high-volume operation.
We’re looking for someone who is:
- A strong and practical people leader
- Organised, structured and highly accountable
- Comfortable managing KPIs and productivity targets
- Strong in planning and problem solving
- Focused on quality and attention to detail
- Confident managing inventory and stock control
- Comfortable in a fast‑paced environment
- Proactive about improving processes
- Willing to be hands‑on when required
- Positive, energetic and able to build a strong team culture
Experience using a walkie‑forklift would be helpful.
The role calls for someone who is accountable, organised, systematic, strong at planning and problem solving, capable of leading a team and willing to lead by example.
What success looks like
- Daily orders are packed and dispatched on time
- Quality and presentation standards remain consistently high
- Picking and packing errors are kept to a minimum
- Inventory is accurate, organised and easy to access
- Productivity and labour costs are well managed
- The warehouse is clean, organised and safe
- The team is well trained, motivated and clear on expectations
- Processes continue to improve as the business grows
The role is measured against practical outcomes including orders shipping on time, productivity, labour cost per hamper, staff performance and customer satisfaction.
Why join us?
This is a role with genuine ownership and the opportunity to make an impact.
You’ll work closely with senior management, have the freedom to improve how the operation runs and play an important part in delivering the customer experience across a growing group of premium gifting brands.
If you enjoy leading teams, improving operations and taking responsibility for getting things done, we’d like to hear from you.
