Take ownership of a growing new and used vehicle operation in Melbourne's Bayside.

GAC Bayside is looking for an experienced and motivated Sales Manager to lead our New Vehicle and Used Vehicle Sales operations from our newly renovated Cheltenham dealership.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants more than simply maintaining an existing department. We are looking for a manager who wants to build a team, grow volume, improve performance and put their own mark on the business.

The opportunity

Reporting to the General Manager, you will have responsibility for the overall performance of the GAC Bayside sales department and our Cheltenham used vehicle operation.

You will be given the opportunity to take real ownership of the department, while having the support and resources of an established multi-franchise automotive group behind you.

Your key responsibilities will include

- Lead, motivate, coach and develop the sales team
- Drive new and used vehicle sales volume, gross profit and overall department performance
- Manage enquiries, appointments, test drives and lead follow-up to maximise conversion
- Maintain strong CRM disciplines and ensure every opportunity is actively managed
- Manage vehicle stock, ageing, pricing and merchandising
- Appraise, acquire and manage used vehicle inventory
- Work closely with Finance & Insurance to maximise penetration and customer outcomes
- Develop and execute local sales campaigns with our marketing team
- Maintain strong relationships with GAC Australia and achieve manufacturer targets
- Ensure dealership processes, compliance and customer experience standards are consistently maintained
- Create a positive, accountable and high-performance sales culture

About you

Ideally,



you will already be an experienced Automotive Sales Manager, New Vehicle Sales Manager or Used Vehicle Sales Manager.

We would also consider an outstanding Assistant Sales Manager or senior automotive sales professional who can demonstrate that they are ready to take the next step into full sales management.

You will need to demonstrate

- Strong automotive retail sales experience
- Proven ability to lead and develop salespeople
- Commercial understanding of volume, gross and stock management
- Strong negotiation and closing skills
- Experience with vehicle appraisals and used vehicle management
- Excellent lead-management and CRM disciplineA hands-on management style - someone prepared to be involved with customers and their team
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A focus on both results and customer experience
- Current Victorian driver's licence
