The Position

As a Family Lawyer with 5-8 years' post admission experience, you will carry your own file load across the full spread of family law matters, largely unsupervised.

Your work will include

- Property settlements, including complex pools involving businesses, trusts, superannuation splitting and third party interests
- Parenting matters, including applications, defended matters, relocation disputes and matters intersecting with family violence




- Drafting and negotiating consent orders and binding financial agreements
- Advocacy at directions hearings and interim applications, and trials for suitable matters, with counsel briefed on complex files
- Family dispute resolution, mediations and settlement negotiations
- Mentoring junior lawyers and supporting the team's continued growth

Requirements

- 5-8 years' post admission experience in family law within Australian private practice
- Current practising certificate and admission in Queensland, or eligibility to transfer
- Confidence running your own matters end to end with minimal supervision
- Strong drafting, negotiation and advocacy skills
- A client focused, empathetic approach and the ability to build trusted relationships
