The ATO School Leaver Program
Get hands-on experience in:
- Frontline Services – Help Australians with tax and super by handling enquiries, providing guidance, and maintaining records.
- Administration – Support business operations through records management, stakeholder engagement, preparing documents, and reporting.
- IT – Provide technical support, contribute to digital projects and help deliver modern services for Australians.
At the ATO, your Year 12 Certificate can take your career into the stratosphere!
Work alongside industry experts, receive mentoring, and get on-the-job training to build your skills and networks.

What you'll achieve
After completing our School Leaver Program, you'll receive:
- a promotion to the APS 2 level
- an advancement in salary to $66,274 plus 15.4% super
- the potential to earn up to $73,452 plus 15.4% super as an APS 2 Officer
- a certificate III in IT or Business.

Eligibility
You can apply for our School Leaver Program if you are an Australian citizen and graduated Year 12 in either 2025 or 2026.
Candidates applying under the affirmative measure provision must provide evidence of disability.
