You’ve built the foundations. Now you need the experience, exposure and senior guidance that will take you from “preparing the work” to becoming a genuinely capable, confident accountant.

This is a hands-on role within a small Fremantle accounting practice where you’ll work directly with a CPA and Fellow Chartered Accountant—not through layers of managers and reviewers.

You’ll get involved in both tax and SMSF accounting, see client matters through properly and have direct access to someone highly qualified when you need advice. For an accountant partway through their CA or CPA, it’s a strong opportunity to gain the practical experience and professional mentorship needed to complete the qualification and accelerate the next stage of their career.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll take responsibility for a diverse portfolio of work, including:





- Financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
- BAS, IAS and general taxation compliance
- SMSF accounts and annual returns
- Direct communication with clients
- Investigating and resolving accounting and taxation issues
- Working alongside the principal on more complex matters
- Managing jobs through to completion rather than completing only one part of the process

What we’re looking for

You’ll ideally have

- Around three years of Australian public-practice experience
- Solid experience preparing financial statements and tax returns
- Exposure to companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
- Commenced or strong desire to commence your CA or CPA qualification
- SMSF experience—or a genuine interest in adding it to your skill set
- The confidence to take ownership of your work
- Strong attention to detail and client communication skills
- A desire to keep learning and develop into a well-rounded accountant

You don’t need to know everything already. You do need solid public-practice foundations, initiative and the motivation to keep progressing.
