Accounts Payable Officer

We are currently seeking a proactive and detail oriented Accounts Receivable Officer to join our Finance team in Brisbane on a full time basis (5 days a week). This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced professional services environment and takes pride in delivering accurate and efficient financial administration support.

About the Role

As our Accounts Receivable Officer, you’ll be responsible for accurate and timely receipting of client payments, cash allocation, account adjustments and client account enquiries. You’ll work closely with the Senior Collections Officer and wider Finance team to maintain accurate records, support collection activities and ensure client account matters are handled efficiently and professionally.

This is a varied role where you’ll manage daily accounts receivable activity, support month-end processes, maintain clear records and help ensure our clients and internal teams receive a high standard of service.

Key Responsibilities

- Process client receipts across payment channels and allocate payments to the correct client, matter and invoice.
- Investigate unidentified deposits, maintain unallocated cash records and clear balances promptly.
- Prepare approved credit notes, process reversals where required and maintain accurate supporting documentation.
- Verify client credit balances and banking details before refunds are arranged.
- Monitor the shared accounts receivable inbox and respond to client and internal stakeholder enquiries.
- Generate, review and distribute client statements, including at month end and when requested.




- Run the approved dunning cycle for overdue accounts and issue appropriate correspondence.
- Record client responses and follow-up actions so progress is visible to the wider Finance team.
- Maintain orderly records of receipts, adjustments, approvals and correspondence for reconciliation and audit purposes.
- Escalate disputed balances, proposed payment arrangements and collection risks to the Senior Collections Officer.
- Support the wider Finance team during month-end and other peak periods

About you We're looking for someone early in their finance career who is eager to build on their Accounts Receivable experience within a professional services environment. You are someone who enjoys working behind the scenes to ensure things run smoothly, values accuracy and takes pride in delivering great service to your stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A minimum of 2 years' experience in an Accounts Receivable role.
- A strong eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Experience processing invoices, payments and reconciliations.
- Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Solid communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with others.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and exposure to accounting software.
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn and a desire to grow your career within a professional and supportive team.
