Description

Location: AgriBio, Centre for AgriBioscience, Bundoora, VIC (Hybrid) Salary: $81,496 – $98,955 (pro rata) plus statutory super

Tenure: Ongoing | FTE: 0.5 Part-Time

This ongoing 0.5 FTE part time role offers flexibility in the arrangement of working hours while providing the opportunity to contribute to a small, collaborative team where your work will have visible impact across the business. AVS has team office days on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and you’ll need to work at least one of those days from our Bundoora office each week. Beyond that, we’ll work with you to create a schedule that suits both you and the business.

About AVS

At AVS, we don’t just work in science – we turn science into impact. As a key bridge between cutting-edge research and industry, we’re on a mission to unlock value from Victoria’s ag-tech innovations that deliver real economic, environmental and societal benefits, turning discoveries into practical solutions that strengthen Victoria’s agricultural sector. AVS is a private company beneficially owned by the Victorian Government.

About the Role

This is an ongoing position reporting to our Executive Assistant & Office Manager, providing administrative support across the whole business. In a team of approximately 20 people,

you’ll have visibility across every part of the organisation and opportunities to contribute to improving how we work.

You’ll work across HR administration, contract administration, records management, meeting coordination, procurement support and the connective work that keeps a small organisation running well.

You’ll see how everything fits together, build relationships across the business, and have genuine scope to improve how things are done, not just follow existing processes.

A typical fortnight might include supporting a recruitment process and onboarding paperwork for a new starter, coordinating meetings, tracking contract milestones, processing invoices, updating registers, managing office supplies, and finally fixing a records process that’s been annoying everyone for months.

If you’re someone who enjoys bringing order to complexity and making things run smoothly, you’ll find plenty to get stuck into.

About You

You’ll likely bring

- Experience in an administration, business support or office coordination role
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Confident written and verbal communication skills
- Strong digital skills and the ability to quickly learn new systems
- Sound judgement and discretion when handling confidential information
- A proactive mindset and a willingness to improve processes and ways of working

Most importantly,

you will be someone who takes pride in producing quality work, builds positive working relationships, and thrives in a varied role. You’ll be comfortable balancing multiple priorities, working independently when needed and contributes to an efficient, supportive and professional workplace.

What we offer

- Genuine flexibility and hybrid working arrangements
- An ongoing role offering breadth and variety
- The opportunity to work closely with senior leaders and gain exposure across all areas of the business
- A friendly, supportive and collaborative team environment
- Opportunities to broaden your skills and experience

How to Apply If you’re an experienced administrator looking for meaningful work, genuine flexibility and the chance to make a visible contribution in a small, high-performing organisation, we’d love to hear from you.
