About the role
We are seeking a qualified plumber to join our maintenance team. This is a hands-on role for someone who can diagnose faults, complete planned and reactive maintenance, and help protect the integrity of the site's water, sanitary and drainage services in a busy food-manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, repair and install water supply, sanitary plumbing and drainage systems across the processing facility and associated buildings.
- Respond to breakdowns, leaks, blockages and service interruptions, identifying root causes and restoring equipment and services safely and promptly.
- Complete preventative maintenance and routine testing of pipes, valves, fixtures, pumps and related plumbing infrastructure.
- Read plans and technical information, measure and fabricate pipework, and select appropriate materials, fittings and joining methods.
- Support maintenance of hot-water services and other site utilities within the scope of your licence, training and authorisations.
- Maintain accurate work orders, inspection results, parts usage and compliance records.
- Coordinate with engineering, production, quality and external contractors to plan work and minimise disruption to operations.
- Follow site safety, isolation, hygiene, food-safety and environmental procedures, and keep work areas clean and audit-ready.
- Identify reliability improvements and contribute practical ideas to maintenance planning and site projects.
About you
- A completed plumbing trade qualification and a current Western Australian plumbing tradesperson's licence (or recognised eligibility to obtain one before commencing).
- Demonstrated fault-finding,
installation and maintenance experience across water, sanitary and drainage systems.
- Sound knowledge of applicable plumbing standards, safe work practices and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise competing jobs and communicate clearly with operational teams.
- A current C class driver's licence.
- Basic computer literacy and confidence completing digital maintenance records.
- Desirable: Industrial, manufacturing, food-processing, agricultural or other high-volume facility maintenance experience.
- Desirable: Gasfitting, backflow prevention, confined-space entry, working-at-heights, elevated-work-platform or forklift credentials relevant to the work performed.
- Desirable: Experience with pumps, trade waste, wastewater, hot-water systems, stainless-steel pipework or maintenance-management systems.
- Desirable: Experience supporting minor projects, contractor coordination or continuous-improvement initiatives.
