About the Role

This is an exciting prospect for a motivated sales professional to join The Catholic Weekly and play a hands-on role in growing advertising revenue across its print and digital platforms.

As Advertising Sales Representative, you will develop relationships with new and existing advertisers, identify new business opportunities, and create advertising solutions that connect clients with The Catholic Weekly’s audiences. From prospecting and discovery conversations through to campaign delivery and follow-up, you will help build a strong and sustainable advertising pipeline.

Working closely with the Advertising and Production Team Leader, editorial and production teams, you will:

- Proactively identify and pursue new advertisers and revenue opportunities





- Build strong relationships with existing clients and identify opportunities to grow their investment

- Develop tailored advertising solutions across print, digital, supplements and special publications

- Manage opportunities through the sales pipeline, from lead generation through to contract finalisation

- Re-engage previous advertisers and develop new client relationships

- Monitor sales performance and work towards agreed monthly and annual revenue targets

- Maintain accurate client and sales records and provide timely follow-up

- Collaborate with colleagues to align advertising opportunities with upcoming content, publications and campaigns

This is a part-time position working 22.5 hours across three days per week, offering an opportunity to combine your commercial sales skills with a well-established Catholic publication and its growing print and digital presence. The position is currently based in Leichhardt, with the role relocating to Elizabeth Street, Sydney CBD in the first quarter of 2027.

About You

You are a confident and motivated sales professional who enjoys building relationships, identifying opportunities, and turning conversations into results. You are comfortable working towards targets and bring the persistence and initiative needed to develop new business while nurturing existing client relationships.

You will bring

- At least two years’ sales experience, ideally within media, advertising, publishing, or a related environment

- Strong prospecting, negotiation, and closing skills, with a demonstrated ability to generate and grow revenue
- A relationship-focused approach, with the confidence to engage with advertisers, agencies, and stakeholders at different levels
- The ability to understand client needs and develop advertising solutions that deliver value





- Experience managing a portfolio of clients, leads, and competing deadlines

- Confidence using CRM systems, maintaining accurate sales records, and monitoring performance against targets
- An understanding of digital and social media channels and their potential to support audience and revenue growth

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, together with a professional and engaging manner

You are self-motivated, organised, and comfortable working with a degree of autonomy, while also enjoying the collaboration that comes from being part of a broader editorial, production, and communications team.

Above all, you bring energy, commercial initiative, and a genuine commitment to building trusted client relationships and achieving results.
