Cockburn Central Quality Meats is a busy retail butcher shop located in Cockburn Gateway Shopping Centre. We are open seven days a week and pride ourselves on providing quality meat products and excellent customer service to our local community.

We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable Apprentice Butcher to join our team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to learn a skilled trade and gain a nationally recognised qualification while working alongside experienced butchers.

About the Role As an Apprentice Butcher, you will learn all aspects of the butchery trade, including:

- Assisting with cutting, trimming and preparing meat products
- Learning safe knife handling and butchery techniques
- Operating butchery equipment under supervision
- Packaging, weighing and labelling meat products
- Maintaining the presentation of display cabinets
- Providing excellent customer service and product knowledge
- Maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards
- Following workplace health and safety procedures





About You The ideal candidate will have:
- A genuine interest in becoming a qualified butcher
- A solid willingness to learn and follow instructions
- Good attention to detail
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Reliability and punctuality
- The ability to work well within a team
- Excellent personal hygiene and an understanding of food safety practices
- Confidence interacting with customers

Essential Selection Criteria
- Genuine desire to pursue a career in butchery
- Commitment to completing an apprenticeship and training requirements

Desirable
- Pre-Apprenticeship qualification (preferred but not essential)
- Previous experience in customer service, retail or food handling
