- Fixed Term (4 Years) / Full Time
- Monday to Friday, 76 hours per fortnight, 9 day fortnight

- Location – Rockhampton

Earn While You Learn Rockhampton Regional Council is seeking a motivated individual to join Fitzroy River Water as an Apprentice Mechanical Fitter. This is an exciting opportunity to gain nationally recognised trade qualifications while developing practical skills and experience in a supportive team workplace.

Working alongside experienced tradespeople, you will learn to maintain and repair a wide range of mechanical equipment including pumps, motors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, chemical dosing equipment and other plant and machinery. You will receive on-the-job training whilst completing the requirements of your Mechanical Fitter apprenticeship.

What we are looking for

- A genuine interest in mechanical fitting and a desire to build a career in the trade.
- A positive team player with good communication skills and a willingness to learn.
- Committed to completing apprenticeship training and developing practical skills.
- Interested in working with tools, machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Reliable, safety-focused and able to follow instructions while showing initiative.

- Basic numeracy, literacy and problem-solving skills.

To be eligible for this role, applicants must be

- Aged 15 years or older and no longer at school.
- Able to meet citizen, residency, and visa requirements to undertake a traineeship.

- In possession of a C Class Driver Licence (Minimum Provisional).




- Able to complete a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
