Description
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team. This role will be responsible for driving & supporting Addelec offers from a sales perspective within multiple channels.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role will be based in our Campbelltown office and will play a pivotal role in identifying recent opportunities, building strong customer relationships, and expanding our presence.
About the role
As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for growing sales, increasing market share, and building a strong pipeline of opportunities across multiple channels.
- Taking responsibility for achieving Services business sales, gross margin, and contribution targets, with a dedicated focus on the Utility Market and key business segments (Contractors, WS, OEMs, EU, etc.).
- Spending 60% of time in the field, fostering strong customer relationships, managing state-based project/quotation lists, and driving business growth through face-to-face interactions.
- Collaborating with the Operations Manager to develop and execute a sales strategy, while building and maintaining a healthy sales pipeline to ensure consistent progress towards targets.
- Maintaining accurate records in Addelec’s CRM system, including call plans and customer reports, ensuring up-to-date tracking of opportunities, project statuses, and sales activities.
- Working closely with Service teams, conduct joint site visits, manage expense claims, and ensure all activities are executed with safety, professionalism, and a focus on delivering exceptional customer support.
Skills and Experiences
About you
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Have 5+ years of sales experience within the electrical industry.
- Holding an Electrical Trade Certificate, Electrical Engineering qualification, or equivalent.
- Experience selling HV & LV electrical services is desirable
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Excellent planning, organisational, and time management skills.
- Demonstrating the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic and high-performing team environment.
- Displaying a proactive, energetic, and self-motivated approach to achieving business objectives.
- Willing and able to travel regularly to customer sites as required.
- Having a passion for a net-zero future and a strong interest in the electrification of commercial fleets
