Your new role

As the Assistant Financial Accountant, you will provide financial advice and technical support while contributing to financial accounting, statutory reporting, financial systems, and policy activities. You will also support purchasing, asset management, reconciliations, financial reporting processes, and audit requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with statutory and internal financial reporting.
- Support month-end and year-end financial processes.
- Manage purchase orders, credit card transactions and asset records.
- Maintain the fixed asset register and coordinate stocktakes.
- Complete reconciliations and support financial data integrity.
- Assist with internal and external audit activities.
- Provide financial advice and support to stakeholders.




- Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes and controls.

What you'll need to succeed
- Experience working within a financial accounting environment.
- Strong customer service and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Sound understanding of financial processes and reconciliations.
- Ability to interpret and apply financial policies and procedures.
- Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
- Previous government finance experience will be viewed favourably.
