Assistant Store Manager
Location: Sydney, Australia

About the Company
Diamonds Factory is a trusted luxury jewellery brand founded in 2008, built to make high-quality diamond jewellery more accessible without compromising on design, craftsmanship, or service. The brand exists to help customers celebrate life’s milestone moments with pieces that feel special, meaningful, and lasting. As part of Neve Jewels Group, the business is growing across Australia and New Zealand, with established locations and new stores adding momentum to the brand’s regional presence.
The team works in a fast-paced retail environment where customer experience, product knowledge, and attention to detail matter every day. This role sits within a business that values trust, empathy, customer centricity, and experience-led innovation, and it plays an important part in carrying that promise into the store.
Company Proof Points
- Founded in 2008 with a transparent purpose to make high-quality diamond jewellery more accessible. The brand has built trust through a strong product offer and a customer-focused retail experience.
- The business is expanding across Australia and New Zealand, with established stores and new openings contributing to a period of measured growth and regional consolidation.
- Customers are supported through milestone moments, with the brand positioning jewellery as part of meaningful life events rather than a simple transaction.
About the Role The Assistant Store Manager will act as the Store Manager’s second in command, supporting day-to-day store performance and stepping in when the Store Manager is off. The role owns the operational rhythm of the store, helps keep the team aligned to sales goals, and ensures customers receive a polished, consultative luxury experience. It requires someone who can balance people leadership, client engagement, and commercial discipline in a store environment.
The right person will help maintain standards, coach the team, support stock and rota management, and keep the store moving toward its targets. This is a hands-on retail leadership role for someone who can lead by example and bring calm, structure, and energy to a quick-paced sales floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager in running daily store operations, keeping the team organised, the floor covered,
and the customer experience consistent across every shift.
- Lead and mentor sales colleagues to improve performance, strengthen service standards, and convert team effort into individual and store-level sales results.
- Own key operational tasks such as stock taking, rota coordination, staff management, health and safety checks, and on-the-job training.
- Guide the team through the full sales journey, from warm client greeting to consultative selling, so every interaction feels personal and commercially effective.
- Build strong customer relationships by listening carefully, resolving concerns quickly, and ensuring clients feel valued throughout the buying process.
- Support the Store Manager with sales planning and execution, helping the store stay focused on targets, service standards, and day-to-day priorities.
- Maintain brand presentation on the shop floor, modelling a polished, professional approach that reflects a luxury jewellery environment.
- Step in confidently when the Store Manager is away, keeping the store stable, organised, and commercially on track.
Essential Skills & Technologies
- Strong luxury retail background with the confidence to lead a team, support store operations, and keep service standards high in a premium customer environment.
- Proven ability to sell consultatively, read customer needs, and guide conversations toward the right product and experience without losing warmth or authenticity.
- Solid people leadership skills, including coaching, motivating, and supporting colleagues while maintaining accountability for results and day-to-day execution.
- Strong communication and interpersonal ability, with the listening skills needed to build trust with both customers and team members.
- Practical problem-solving skills and adaptability, especially when priorities change, staffing shifts, or customer issues need quick and calm resolution.
- Comfort learning and using new store systems and software quickly, with enough attention to detail to keep records, tasks, and stock processes accurate.
- A genuine passion for luxury products, style, and presentation, paired with the discipline to maintain a polished professional standard.
- Ability to perform in a busy retail environment while staying focused on service, targets, and operational consistency.
Additional Plus
- Experience in jewellery retail or with high-end clientele would be a strong advantage.
- Previous ownership of rota, stock, or store administration duties would help the candidate step into the role quickly.
- Exposure to coaching sales journeys or supporting a store manager in a premium retail environment would be highly valuable.
What You'll Bring
- 2–3 years of relevant luxury retail experience, ideally with some exposure to jewellery or premium customer-facing sales.
- Confidence to act as the Store Manager’s second in command and keep the store moving when the manager is off.
- A customer-first mindset with the discipline to combine service quality, team support, and commercial delivery.
- Calm, professional leadership that helps the team stay organised, motivated, and focused on results.
