Atmospheric Science Expert (AI Training)

About The Role

What if your deep knowledge of atmospheric science — climate systems, weather modeling, ecological dynamics — could directly shape how AI understands and reasons about our planet?

We're looking for Atmospheric Science experts with advanced degrees to develop and evaluate complex, real-world scientific problems that train cutting-edge AI models. Your expertise won't just sit in a research paper — it will be embedded into AI systems used by millions.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for researchers, academics, and working scientists who want meaningful, well-compensated work on their own schedule.

- Organization: Alignerr

- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

- Develop, solve, and review advanced atmospheric and environmental science problems grounded in real-world relevance
- Apply your expertise in climate modeling, ecology, atmospheric dynamics, or sustainability to design rigorous, complex problem statements
- Evaluate AI-generated scientific reasoning for accuracy, depth, and scientific integrity
- Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to push the boundaries of AI reasoning in your field
- Ensure scientific rigor, clarity,

and precision across all deliverables

Who You Are

- Holds a Master's or PhD in Atmospheric Science, Environmental Science, Climate Science, or a closely related field
- Proficient in Python or R for research, data analysis, or scientific modeling
- Deep expertise in one or more of: climate modeling, atmospheric physics, ecology, or sustainability science
- Exceptional written communicator — you can translate complex science into transparent, precise language
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated when working independently
- Fluent in English

Nice to Have

- Prior experience with data annotation, quality evaluation, or AI training workflows
- Background in scientific writing, peer review, or curriculum development
- Familiarity with AI tools or large language model evaluation
- Experience designing problem sets, research questions, or exam content

Why Join Us

- Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading AI research labs
- Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
- Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based scientific work
- Make a direct, lasting impact on how AI understands science and the natural world
- Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
