Axway MFT Engineer / Architect

? Location: Sydney

? Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Axway MFT Engineer to design, build, and support secure, scalable file transfer solutions using the Axway MFT Suite (SecureTransport, CFT, B2Bi, API Gateway). This role involves translating business and integration requirements into robust technical solutions aligned with enterprise security and compliance standards.

✅ Key Responsibilities

Design & Architecture

- Design end-to-end Managed File Transfer (MFT) solutions using Axway
- Define file transfer workflows, protocols (SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, AS2) and routing
- Develop High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) architecture
- Lead capacity planning and performance optimization
- Implement secure architecture (encryption, certificates, SSH keys, PGP)

Build & Configuration

- Install and configure Axway SecureTransport, CFT, B2Bi
- Configure endpoints, virtual folders, routing, and transfer policies
- Develop automated workflows and file transfer rules
- Set up authentication & authorization (LDAP/Active Directory)
- Configure protocol adapters (SFTP,



HTTPS, AS2, PeSIT)

Security & Compliance

- Implement SSL/TLS, SSH, PGP encryption/decryption
- Configure audit logging and secure transfer mechanisms
- Ensure compliance with enterprise security and data protection standards
- Establish secure configuration baselines

Integration & Automation

- Integrate MFT solutions with enterprise systems and middleware (API, MQ, Kafka)
- Develop scripts (Shell/Python) for automation and file processing
- Enable event-driven data transfer workflows

Testing & Documentation

- Perform testing (unit, connectivity, performance, DR scenarios)
- Ensure end-to-end data integrity and reliability
- Prepare design documents (HLD/LLD), runbooks, and workflows

Collaboration

- Work closely with business, infrastructure, and security teams
- Support partner onboarding and integration activities

? Skills & Experience

Technical Expertise

- Robust experience with Axway SecureTransport / CFT / B2Bi
- Hands-on with file transfer protocols (SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, AS2)
- Strong understanding of security (SSL/TLS, SSH, PGP)
- Linux/Unix administration experience
- Scripting knowledge (Shell / Python)

Integration & Architecture

- Experience with API integrations, MQ, Kafka, or middleware
- Knowledge of solution architecture, HA/DR design, and performance tuning

⭐ Nice to Have

- Experience in Banking / Financial Services
- Knowledge of ITIL processes
- Exposure to DevOps / CI-CD pipelines
- Axway or MFT-related certifications
