POSITION: BARISTA

Location: Australind, Western Australia
Salary: $71,550 per annum (full-time equivalent)
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and serve espresso-based beverages to a consistently high standard
- Operate, calibrate, clean and maintain commercial espresso machines and grinders
- Take customer orders and deliver friendly, attentive front-of-house service
- Apply milk texturing techniques and latte art to a professional standard
- Manage coffee stock levels, assist with ordering and minimise wastage
- Maintain a clean and organised work area in compliance with food safety standards
- Assist in training junior staff on coffee preparation techniques and quality standards
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Barista in a commercial café or hospitality setting
- Demonstrated proficiency with commercial espresso equipment and grinders
- Solid knowledge of coffee extraction, grind adjustment and milk texturing
- Current Food Safety Handler certificate, or willingness to obtain prior to commencement
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare, cook and present a range of café menu items in accordance with recipe specifications and quality standards
- Assist with seasonal menu planning and development under the direction of the Head Chef
- Ensure all food preparation and storage complies with food safety and hygiene legislation
- Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering and take action to minimise food wastage
- Safely operate and maintain all kitchen equipment and report faults promptly
- Work cooperatively with kitchen and front-of-house team members during service
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with HACCP food safety plans
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen environment
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification; relevant trade experience also considered
- Current Food Safety Supervisor certificate, or willingness to obtain prior to commencement
- Demonstrated knowledge of HACCP principles and food hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak service periods

Salary: $79,500 per annum (full-time equivalent)
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, prepare and oversee the production of all menu items to the highest quality standards
- Develop and update menu items in line with seasonal availability, cost targets and customer preferences
- Supervise, train and mentor kitchen staff, including rostering and performance management
- Monitor and control food and labour costs, wastage and inventory in line with budget targets
- Ensure full compliance with food safety legislation; maintain and audit HACCP documentation
- Liaise with management regarding menu strategy, kitchen operations and supplier relationships
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised kitchen environment at all times
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience as a qualified Chef in a commercial kitchen
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent trade qualification
- Demonstrated experience in a senior or supervisory kitchen role
- Strong working knowledge of food safety legislation, HACCP systems and compliance obligations
- Excellent organisational, communication and team leadership skills
