Role Description This is a casual, on-site Barista role located in Five Dock, NSW. The Barista will prepare and serve espresso-based drinks, brewed coffee, teas, and other specialty beverages according to café standards. Daily responsibilities include handling the coffee machine and equipment, assisting with basic food preparation and pastry display, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace and customer area.

The Barista will greet guests, take orders, process payments, answer questions about menu items, and provide courteous, efficient service.



The role also involves restocking supplies, following food safety and hygiene guidelines, and collaborating with the team to ensure smooth service throughout the day.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated barista skills, including operating espresso machines and preparing a variety of coffee beverages.
- Customer service and interpersonal skills to foster a welcoming, respectful environment for all guests.
- Clear, professional communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
- Experience with basic food preparation and knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced café setting, including standing for extended periods and handling peak service times.
- Solid attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to punctuality and teamwork.
- Previous experience in a café, bakery, or hospitality environment is preferred but not required.
- Availability to work a range of shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
