About the roles
Associate/Advanced Associate: These roles are open to registered behaviour support practitioners (or those interested in becoming registered) from relevant allied health disciplines or from a disability or mental health background (for example, psychiatric nursing) background. Renumeration and other conditions can be negotiated based on qualifications and experience. The role may be negotiated as a Full-Time or Part time role or Casual/Contract position (at least 3-days per week, or 20 hours), with above award rates + superannuation and clinical supervision.
Ideally, you will have knowledge and an understanding of:
- Positive Behaviour Support practice
- Evidence-based and best-practice support principles
- Relevant Standards including the NDIS Behaviour Support (and Restrictive Practices) Rules, 2018 and NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission.
What you’ll need to be successful
- Experience in behaviour assessment and intervention with individuals with disability presentations including autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, mental health conditions and complex comorbidities and psychosocial presentations.
- A willingness to learn and a commitment to providing high quality individualised support
- Your own reliable vehicle and an Australian Drivers Licence
- A NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children/Working with Vulnerable People Check (or willingness to obtain these before commencement)
Highly desirable (but not essential)
- A qualification in Psychology/ Behavioural Sciences, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Disability or Psychiatric Nursing
- Experience in behaviour support practice
