Our Story:

PetSafetyNet was co-designed by PetSure, VetPartners and VetChat and launched in late 2024 to address a growing challenge: many people face significant barriers to accessing veterinary care for their pets. Through a combination of veterinary telehealth and subsidised in-clinic treatment for many urgent presentations, PetSafetyNet helps vulnerable pet carers access essential veterinary services when they otherwise may not be able to do so.

The Opportunity:

PetSafetyNet is seeking three voluntary independent directors to join its inaugural Board as we establish an independent charitable entity focused on improving equity in access to veterinary care across Australia.

This is a unique opportunity to help shape a purpose-driven organisation at an exciting stage of growth. PetSafetyNet has already demonstrated significant impact through an creative model integrating community referrals, telehealth and subsidised in-clinic veterinary care, and is now transitioning to an independent charity to support expansion and funding diversification.

Board Focus Areas:

The Board's role is to provide independent oversight, guidance and stewardship to ensure PetSafetyNet delivers on its purpose sustainably and responsibly.

- Strategy & Impact – shape strategic direction and measuring social and community outcomes.

- Governance & Compliance – ensuring compliance with charity governance standards and directors' duties.

- Financial Sustainability – overseeing funding strategy, financial performance and long-term viability.

- Risk & Assurance – providing oversight of key risks,

controls and organisational performance.

- Stakeholder Engagement – strengthening relationships with donors, partners, community organisations and other stakeholders.

- Purpose & Values – safeguarding the mission to improve access to veterinary care and support pet-owning families in need

What You'll Bring:

- A strong commitment to PetSafetyNet's purpose and social impact.

- Strategic thinking, sound judgement and independence of mind.

- A willingness to provide constructive challenge and oversight.

- High standards of integrity, governance and ethical leadership.

- The ability to build productive relationships and contribute effectively within a diverse Board environment.

The Commitment:

- Approximately six Board meetings per year.

- Participation in occasional committee meetings and strategic workshops.

- Board paper preparation and engagement between meetings.

- Meetings conducted primarily via videoconference.
