Role Description The Boilermaker role at Austwide Cranes is a full-time, on-site position based in Loganholme, QLD. The Boilermaker will perform metal fabrication, assembly, and repair work on overhead cranes and associated lifting equipment, ensuring structures meet safety and quality standards. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting blueprints and technical drawings, cutting, shaping, and joining metal components, and carrying out welding operations using appropriate techniques.

The role involves inspecting existing structures, performing maintenance and modifications, collaborating with technicians and crane service personnel,



and adhering to workplace health and safety procedures. The Boilermaker will also assist in preparing equipment for inspections and support the delivery of reliable, timely service to customers.

Qualifications

- Strong welding skills, including proficiency in general Welding and TIG Welding, with a focus on structural integrity and safety.
- Competence in Oxy-acetylene cutting and heating for fabrication, repair, and modification of metal components.
- Ability to read and interpret Blueprint Reading and technical drawings to produce accurate and compliant fabricated structures.
- Experience in Metal Fabrication, including measuring, cutting, forming, and assembling metal for industrial equipment.
- Relevant trade qualification as a Boilermaker or Metal Fabricator, or equivalent certification.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety standards in industrial and lifting equipment environments.
- Ability to work in office in a team-based environment, with good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Previous experience with cranes, lifting equipment, or industrial maintenance is highly regarded.
