Lead the delivery of Australia's Defence capability

Shadbolt Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Defence team in South Australia.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced project leader to take ownership of complex Defence projects, lead high-performing teams and build strong relationships with Defence Primes, Commonwealth representatives, subcontractors and key stakeholders.

You will play a key role in delivering Shadbolt's Defence projects safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

About The Role

Reporting to the Manager, Defence (SA), you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and successful delivery of Shadbolt's Defence projects.

Key Responsibilities Include

- Lead the safe and successful delivery of contracted project scopes.
- Plan, coordinate and oversee site-based project activities.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, risks and performance.
- Lead and develop Project Engineers, Site Supervisors, Leading Hands and project personnel.
- Coordinate labour, subcontractors, suppliers, plant and equipment.
- Manage client and stakeholder relationships, including Defence Prime Contractors and Commonwealth representatives.
- Monitor project financial performance, forecasting, procurement and variations.
- Ensure projects meet contractual, Defence, HSEQ and quality requirements.
- Identify and resolve operational issues to maintain project delivery.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, tendering and business development opportunities.

About you

You will be an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in Defence, engineering, construction, infrastructure or industrial project delivery.

To Be Successful,



You Will Have

- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years' experience managing complex projects.
- Demonstrated experience delivering site-based projects safely, on schedule and within budget.
- Experience working with Defence Prime Contractors or major Defence, government or industrial projects.
- Strong commercial and contract management capability.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Sound understanding of Australian WHS and HSEQ requirements.
- Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Defence Security Clearance.

Experience working within secure Defence environments and knowledge of DISP and Commonwealth contracting frameworks will be highly regarded.
