Looking for a hands-on role with plenty of variety?

The Shire of Corrigin is looking for a reliable, friendly and professional Building Maintenance Officer to join our team.

This is a varied, hands-on role maintaining and improving Shire buildings, facilities, housing and community assets. From carpentry, painting and general repairs through to coordinating contractors and assisting with maintenance projects, no two days will be quite the same.

You don't need to be a qualified tradesperson to apply. We're looking for someone who enjoys fixing things, takes pride in quality workmanship and has practical experience maintaining buildings, houses, public facilities or similar. A relevant trade qualification is an advantage, but we're just as interested in the skills, experience and capability you can bring to the role.

This permanent full-time position offers:

- Starting rate of $34.63 per hour under the Shire of Corrigin Enterprise Agreement 2025, Level 4.1. Negotiable depending on qualifications and experience
- Nine-day fortnight with an RDO every second Monday
- Up to 17% superannuation, including up to 5% matching employer contributions
- Vehicle provided for work and commuting
- Subsidised staff housing, or a $150 per fortnight housing allowance after 12 months of continuous service if own house provided
- $600 annual uniform allowance plus personal protective clothing and equipment
- $50 per fortnight tool allowance where you supply your own tools
- Mobile phone provided
- Up to $250 per year health and wellbeing reimbursement

About the role

Your day-to-day work will include maintaining and repairing Shire buildings, and facilities, undertaking general property maintenance, identifying maintenance requirements, coordinating contractors, arranging materials and equipment, obtaining quotes and raising purchase orders, and assisting with maintenance programs and minor capital works.

You'll need

- A current C Class Driver's Licence
- Practical maintenance skills and relevant experience
- A White Card, or willingness to obtain one
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A positive, professional approach when dealing with colleagues, contractors and the community A relevant trade qualification is desirable but not essential.
