The Role

With an expanding national footprint, our client are seeking an experienced professional based in NSW , working remotely, with occasional travel to Melbourne welcomed but not essential. This role offers a balanced split of approximately 50% BCA consultancy and 50% building certification, working primarily across commercial projects and fit-outs The business is open to two profiles:

- A senior, registered Building Surveyor with authority to sign permits; or
- A highly experienced non-registered consultant who understands the end-to-end permit and approval process and can facilitate certification using the companies interstate registration.

Key responsibilities include:

- Acting as the Designated Building Surveyor for allocated projects (where registered), including signing building permits, occupancy permits and certificates
- Managing projects from commencement through to completion, setting priorities and meeting key milestones
- Reviewing documentation for completeness and accuracy prior to issuing approvals
- Carrying out and overseeing inspections and compliance audits, ensuring rectification actions are closed out
- Reviewing work prepared by other team members as part of internal QA processes
- Liaising with councils, contractors, clients and authorities to coordinate approvals and resolve issues
- Attending and leading meetings with clients and stakeholders as required
- Approving and issuing fee proposals, variations and invoices, and assisting with billing queries
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships and acting as a senior technical point of contact
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives,

- Providing informal mentoring and technical guidance to team members

About YouThis role will suit a confident, commercially minded building surveying professional with strong technical capability. You will ideally have:

- Registration as a Building Surveyor (preferred), or strong experience facilitating certification processes
- Proven experience delivering commercial BCA consultancy and certification services in NSW
- Strong working knowledge of the Building Act, Regulations, NCC and relevant Standards
- Experience managing medium to large commercial projects and fit-outs
- Confidence dealing with councils, clients and project stakeholders
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to support team capability
