Position Description The Business Development Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting Avion's commercial growth by coordinating business development activities, maintaining CRM data integrity, assisting with proposal development, supporting marketing initiatives and ensuring opportunities progress efficiently through the sales pipeline.

Working closely with the Commercial Director, this position provides the commercial backbone of the Business Development function, allowing senior business development staff to focus on strategic customer engagement while ensuring leads, proposals and client interactions are professionally managed.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development Support

Support the commercial team in identifying, qualifying and progressing new business opportunities.

Responsibilities include

- Monitor inbound business enquiries
- Qualify new leads
- Coordinate follow-up activities
- Schedule client meetings
- Coordinate follow-up correspondence
- Maintain opportunity tracking
- Assist with strategic account planning
- Support customer relationship management activities

CRM Management

Maintain accurate commercial data and ensure complete visibility of the sales pipeline.

Responsibilities include

- Maintain CRM records
- Update opportunity stages
- Record customer interactions
- Track proposal status




- Maintain contact databases
- Produce CRM reports
- Identify inactive opportunities
- Assist with pipeline forecasting

Commercial Intelligence Assist in identifying market opportunities and emerging sponsors.

Conference and Event Cooordination

Support Avion's conference strategy before, during and after major industry events.

Responsibilities include

- Coordinate conference logistics
- Support partnering meeting schedules
- Research attending companies
- Prepare briefing documents
- Prepare capability material
- Track conference meetings
- Coordinate post-conference follow-up
- Update CRM after conferences
- Monitor conference ROI metrics

Marketing Support

Work closely with Marketing and the Commercial team to support lead generation activities.

Responsibilities include

- Coordinate LinkedIn campaigns
- Assist webinar planning
- Coordinate newsletters
- Update capability presentations
- Maintain marketing collateral
- Support white paper production
- Coordinate client case studies
- Assist website updates
- Prepare promotional materials

Commercial Administration

Provide operational support to ensure the commercial function operates efficiently.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential

- Experience within a CRO workplace
- Proven experience managing the BD function of a CRO
- Strong understanding of the clinical trial business lifecycle
- Demonstrated ability to manage complexity and multitask
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting market data, identifying opportunities, and supporting business development decisions.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients, preparing presentations, and collaborating with internal teams.
- Experience in market research to assess industry trends, competitor activity, and potential clinical trial partnerships.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills, including experience with CRM systems or similar tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Tertiary qualification in business, life sciences, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a CRO or healthcare setting is advantageous.

Desirable

- Experience in radiopharmaceuticals, or imaging-based trials
