About Bondi Records

Bondi Records is one of Australia’s fastest-growing independent record stores.

Founded in Sydney in 2021, we’ve grown into a multi-channel retailer serving more than 70,000 customers, with more than 10,000 titles across our online and physical stores.

We’re looking for a Buyer to build the right range, keep the right records in stock and own the journey from supplier catalogue to customer.

The role

You’ll work across buying, ecommerce and inventory — deciding what we buy, how much we buy and when we reorder it.

You’ll own the product journey end to end: identify → buy → create → publish → analyse → reorder.

This is a commercial role as much as a music role. You’ll balance instinct with data, demand, margin and inventory to make smart buying decisions.

What you’ll be doing

Buying & range

- Review supplier catalogues and recent releases and decide what we should stock.
- Purchase from Australian and international suppliers and determine order quantities.
- Manage purchase orders, supplier orders and pre-orders.
- Identify new labels, artists, suppliers and product opportunities.
- Monitor music and customer trends to anticipate demand.
- Build strong relationships with labels, distributors and suppliers.

Product & ecommerce

- Own products from selection through to being live online and available in-store.
- Create products and releases in Shopify.
- Source and verify artwork, track listings, formats, editions, barcodes and release dates.
- Create product descriptions and maintain accurate pricing, costs and product data.
- Get new releases and pre-orders online quickly and accurately.

Replenishment & inventory

- Monitor sales and stock levels and identify what needs to be reordered.
- Keep bestsellers available while avoiding unnecessary overstock.
- Use sales history,



stock levels and demand to guide purchasing.
- Identify fast and slow-moving products and respond accordingly.
- Improve stock turn, forecasting and replenishment.

We’d love to hear from you if you

- Have experience in buying, inventory, merchandising, retail or ecommerce — or want to build your career in buying.
- Are commercially minded and comfortable with numbers and data.
- Have exceptional attention to detail and organisation.
- Take ownership from beginning to end.
- Are comfortable with ecommerce technology and communicating with suppliers.
- Are curious about what sells, why it sells and what we should buy next.
- Enjoy improving processes and using technology to work smarter.

Experience with Shopify, Excel or Google Sheets, retail buying, inventory management, supplier management or AI tools would be useful but isn’t essential.

Knowledge of music, vinyl, artists and releases is highly desirable.

What success looks like The right records are in stock, online and ready to buy when customers want them.

New releases are selected, ordered and published quickly. Bestsellers stay available, slow-moving stock is identified early and buying decisions are increasingly driven by data.

You’ll help us improve sales, stock turn, availability, margin and profitability — while using AI and automation to make the entire process more efficient.
