Strategic capital planning, managing long-term infrastructure programs, forecasting, scheduling & governance

Are you an experienced asset management, capital planning or infrastructure planning professional looking to play a key role in shaping the future delivery of community infrastructure.
An exciting prospect exists for a Capital Planning Master Scheduler to support the development, coordination and continuous improvement of a long-term Capital Works Program within a large local government environment.
Your new role
Reporting to the Coordinator Asset Management and Capital Planning, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing a 10-Year Capital Works Program, ensuring projects are prioritised, planned and sequenced to support strategic objectives, community needs and long-term financial sustainability.
This is a strategic planning role focused on program development, forecasting, governance and asset investment planning rather than project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and ongoing review of a 10-Year Capital Works Program.
- Develop and maintain integrated capital works schedules and delivery forecasts.Analyse asset condition, lifecycle, risk and financial data to support investment decisions.
- Coordinate project prioritisation and program planning activities across multiple departments.
- Prepare reports, dashboards and business insights for senior management and stakeholders.
- Support governance processes, capital planning frameworks and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain and improve capital planning data,
forecasting tools and reporting systems.
What you'll need to succeed To be successful, you will bring:
- Experience in capital planning, infrastructure planning, asset management or portfolio management.
- Proven experience developing long-term capital investment programs.
- Strong understanding of local government asset management principles and practices.
- Experience in program scheduling, forecasting and dependency management.
- Advanced analytical, reporting and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience working with asset management systems, GIS, Power BI and advanced Excel.
- Relevant qualifications in Engineering, Asset Management, Project Management, Planning, Finance, Economics or a related discipline
