Case Worker (Homelessness Services– Safe Space)
- Casual Position
- Based in Hobart CBD

Our Safe Space program provides 24-hour safety and support for people experiencing homelessness. The day program is a space for people to relax, have a meal and connect with key support services. The night space is a place for community members to sleep, with beds and meals provided.
We have an exciting opportunity for professional client-focused Case Workers to join our Safe Space Program, helping to support our local homeless community. You will build trust and rapport with participants to provide them with support during their visit to or stay at Safe Space.
This position will be mostly evening and overnight shifts (awake) with some day shifts as required, spread across the whole week and weekend.
About you:
- Relevant experience and/or qualifications in social work, community welfare, psychology, mental illness, drug & alcohol dependency, nursing or other related field
- Demonstrated ability to work with vulnerable individuals experiencing issues with drugs and alcohol and homelessness
- Personal resilience along with passion and purpose
- A calm and reassuring manner that enhances a safe environment
- A proactive and passionate approach with strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent active listening skills with ability to quickly assess and respond to risks
- Demonstrated ability to show initiative,
prioritise and solve problems in a challenging and dynamic environment
