Baringa Private Hospital is a 78 bed licensed hospital, (64 Rehabilitation / Surgical, 12 Mental Health, 2 ICU) providing advanced surgery, interventional coronary angiography including the implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators, ICU, endovascular & general surgery, general medical, rehabilitation, palliative care and mental health.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our hospital kitchen team on a casual basis. This role offers the opportunity to prepare high-quality meals, support excellent patient dining experiences, and contribute to a team-oriented and efficient kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and serve high-quality meals that meet patient dietary requirements and food service standards.
- Assist with food ordering and stock control in the absence of the Executive Chef.
- Support menu planning using seasonal ingredients while maintaining quality and cost efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, HACCP, and infection control standards.
- Manage food preparation, cooking, plating, and kitchen operations to deliver consistent, timely service.
- Monitor inventory, stock rotation, and kitchen supplies to minimise waste.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and hospital teams to ensure efficient service.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and effectively.

About You To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Experience in a high-volume commercial kitchen, preferably in healthcare or hospitality.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Skills in portion control, food costing, and inventory management.
- Excellent organisational and teamwork skills.




- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.

Additional Information
